Writing Pens: Micron and Art Pop (more affordable). Recently purchased a Tombow Fudenoske brush pen I really like. It’s kind of in between a fine point and a brush.
Watercolor Brushes: I love the plastic type that hold water to make it easy to sit on the couch or in bed and paint but when I want something better quality I love big Meeden, Flydom and Princeton brushes.
Colored Pencils: Prismacolor and Faber-Castell (splurge)
Watercolors: Wet—Winsor Newton, Mission. Pan—Prisma pans are great! Windsor-Newton. Fuumuui. Beam watercolors, recently purchased and still trying them out but they have nice mica (ethical) options and gouache options. The darker colors are nice but the lighter ones are a little too light for my taste thus far. Very expensive however.
Highlighters for neugraphic art: Sharpie and Stabilo (found some on sale recently for $5, normally $23!)
Paper: Watercolor paper, all cotton, is the best but cellulose watercolor paper (Canson) is perfectly fine. I used Mixed Media paper a lot since it is versatile but it is not quite as heavy or nice as true watercolor paper.
